Exploring their sexual orientation or gender identity should be a positive experience for all young people, including lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans young people. It isn’t always easy for carers to know how best to support a young person as they embark on these discoveries. It is often not obvious how to make sure they have everything they need to develop and flourish at school.

This course empowers foster carers with a greater understanding and acceptance of young people in their care who may identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. We aim to support carers to become aware of their own possible prejudices and thereby increasing their efforts in proficient care.
