Description

There are many reasons why looking after children and young people can present different types of challenging behaviours. We must have strategies for responding to and managing these behaviours. This training considers challenging behaviour and how we, as individuals, can react differently to different types of behaviours. This course assists carers and social care staff in understanding negative behaviour's complexities. It enables us to assess and understand the underlying needs, which can then be addressed by promoting alternative, constructive interventions. This training explores past experiences that may have influenced challenging behaviour and then focuses on the positive experiences we can provide for young people to build resilience and manage their reactions to challenging situations.

Need more time?

We recognise that sometimes groups need more time for discussions and group work. This can mean that a two-hour session is just not long enough to explore the curriculum and engage in question and answer sessions. So we are you offering the opportunity to extend the session by an hour to allow your trainees the chance to explore the curriculum fully!
