According to the Charity Action on Addiction, 1 in 3 of us are addicted to something. This means that we are all likely to be touched by addiction in some way either personally, within our circle of family, friends or from a wider community. The effects of addiction can be crippling for both those affected and the people around them. To be of any support to those at risk we need a solid foundation of understanding around:
- How does addiction develop?
- What can we do to treat it?
- What can we do to prevent it?
