This training is designed to give participants a greater understanding of the effects of substance use on pregnancy and parenting. We will be looking at different substances and their effects on both the mother and unborn child.  We will also explore how agencies can work better together to provide appropriate care and support for the whole family.

This course ensures that participants are able to:

  1. Have an awareness of the potential issues for children affected by drug and alcohol use.
  2. 2.   Understand the role of the worker in reporting and recording information regarding individuals who are at risk from abuse and individuals who may be at risk of danger due to their substance use.
  3. 3.   Implement collaborative working with partner agencies.
