Blended Learning is a way to increase value on your training budget, ensure every participant is fully engaged, and ultimately ensure that Social Care professionals can do a significantly better job.

But what is Blended Learning and how does it work in practice?

We have put together some frequently asked questions to help you see how it could work for your organisation.

Our Training Daisy format is a blended learning approach, which means it combines face to face and online training. Training your workforce through face-to-face delivery alone places a huge strain on your budget. E-learning has become a very popular financial solution over recent years. However, it is widely recognised now that this format has its limitations.

The Training Daisy is a powerful combination of the two formats. It ensures that knowledge consumed through e-learning is checked and participants are given sufficient opportunity to discuss real world implementation.

How does the Training Daisy ensure that everybody in the live training has the same knowledge base?
Generally, in any live training session, the participants will have very different knowledge levels. An adept trainer will ensure that everybody is included, but the situation can leave some participants feeling that they have not been sufficiently stretched, whilst others struggle to understand the subject matter. The result in both cases is disengagement and minimal learning outcomes from the session.

The Training Daisy format means that in the weeks leading up to the live workshop everybody has consumed the same units of e-learning. This makes for an instantly cohesive group that can reflect on their learning together and clarify any mute points before moving onto an even deeper level of understanding.

How will my team benefit from this new approach?
Learners tell us that working through training in our unique format gives them a much greater understanding of how all the subjects fit together to be effectively implemented in the workplace.

Learners feel that their time has been well invested and their CPD has been enhanced. This is an improvement on the common complaint that training programmes can feel like a ‘tick-box exercise’.

Participants appreciate being able to access their learning resources whenever they need to at a time that suits them. They no longer worry about losing paper handouts or certificates.

What does the Training Daisy include?
The Training Daisy is a bespoke Blended Learning package. It includes one live training workshop covering a central ‘Theme Topic’ and between 4 and 6 ‘Petal’ topics.

The Petal Topics are E-learning modules accessed through a learning portal.

The live workshop focuses on Values, Beliefs, Skills and Competencies.  It is also an opportunity for learners to discuss anything that came up for them through their individual study. Participants are given 3-6 weeks to complete the petal modules before they come together for the live workshop. For commissioners, these training packages also include complimentary access to the ‘Learning Gateway’ – a powerful Training Management tool that will enable you to easily track all learner attendance and assessments.

How will the Training Daisy save my organisation money?
Each Training Daisy includes one central face-to-face workshop and 4-6 e-learning topics. The cost of this for a cohort of 15 people would be approx £1,350.

The cost of covering those 7 topics through face-to-face delivery would be aprox £3,000 – more than two times that amount.

Your investment will also include free access to your ‘Learning Gateway’, a powerful training management tool that will save you the time and resources you my currently be spending on printing certificates, sending our training notes, creating registers, and responding to team members training related queries.

Is the Training Daisy fully Ofsted Compliant?
Each of our learning modules has been developed to be Ofsted compliant. Your Learning Gateway will give you instant access to all the evidence you are required to present during an inspection.

How are learners Assessed?
Assessment is an integral part of the Training Daisy experience. Quizzes feature in each of our e-learning modules. Participants will also complete a short on-line assessment after their live workshop. You will be able to set the pass rate for each course (we would suggest around 90%). A certificate will be produced upon successful completion of this assessment.

Through your learning gateway you will be able to track the progress of each participant, as well as accessing clear data for each course you have commissioned. Having this kind of information at your fingertips significantly reduces the administrative strain of pulling together data for internal meetings and Ofsted inspections. Our system records the feedback and data required for all of your team’s CPD requirements.
