Radicalisation in Young People – Advanced (Zoom)

From: £370.00 3 hours

Description

Radicalisation in Young People

The Radicalisation in Young People is an issue taken up with the UK Government from 2015, when it produced ‘Guidance for specified authorities in England and Wales on the duty in the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 to have due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism’.

Radicalisation in Young People is a mandatory training requirement for all those working with under 18’s and fits in with Safeguarding responsibilities.

It is important to understand what the process of radicalisation actually looks like for families, friends and communities to spot the warning signs and help prevent acts of violent extremism. This course aims to give an understanding of what causes people to be vulnerable to radicalisation or influenced by extremism. It includes insights on how to recognise those that are potentially vulnerable to radicalisation and information on what to do if there are concerns about an individual.

Learning Aims:

- Understand what Radicalisation is
- Understand what violent extremism is
- Understand the Radicalisation Process
- Have increased understanding of Radicalisation and the Internet
- Have knowledge of the Prevent strand of the government’s CONTEST strategy

This course is for Foster Carers and Adopters as well as their Supervising Social Workers. It is also suitable for Residential Child Care Workers (RCCW) and residential team managers from mainstream, short-breaks and outreach services.

Need more time?

We recognise that sometimes groups need more time for discussions and group work. This can mean that a two-hour session is just not long enough to explore the curriculum and engage in question and answer sessions. So we are you offering the opportunity to extend the session by an hour to allow your trainees the chance to explore the curriculum fully!
